  • How do you prepare the property for sod installation?

    Installing sod is much more than just laying down some lush green rolls of sod. Before installing the sod, our team will complete the following steps:


    •Remove old grass and weeds from the soil

    •Amend the soil if necessary

    •Grade the soil so that it is levelled and drains properly


    Once the area has been properly prepped, we will expertly install the sod. If you have an irrigation or sprinkler system on your property, we will recalibrate these to ensure the new sod receives adequate watering. 


    When we have finished the sod installation, we will remove all debris and waste from the worksite, leaving you a beautiful and clean space to enjoy. At Sod Guru, we also offer mulch delivery and installation near you.

  • Do you provide care instructions for the sod once it has been installed?

    Yes! Our after-care support is perhaps the most essential part of our service. Fresh sod requires different maintenance than an established lawn. Here are some key sod care tips to ensure your lawn stays lush and green:


    •Ensure the sod never dries out but be careful not to overwater. We suggest watering three to four times per day for 5–10 minutes during the first week

    •Avoid watering the sod in the evening

    •Avoid foot traffic on the new lawn for at least two weeks.

    •During the second week, water the lawn for 30 minutes every day, twice a day, if temperatures are very warm

    •After three weeks, you can mow the lawn


    Ensure to keep the mower deck high and never mow more than 1/3 of the length.
